Web Wings join traditional web-swinging mechanics as new traversal features in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, providing expanded city navigation methods. The game adds glider-type extensions that enable multiple modes of motion by allowing players to run through the New York skyline using traditional web-swinging techniques and gliding. The new version of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 introduces wind tunnels and updrafts to its open world, allowing players to travel more efficiently and move between areas in a fluid manner. Point-launching features and updated parkour animations produce more fluid movements that enhance player experiences compared to previous Spider-Man titles. The gameplay will deliver a more thrilling movement system that enables players to swing at high speeds and glide gracefully between New York City’s sections.

Dual Protagonists and Seamless Character Switching

Players can now fully control Spider-Man Peter Parker and his protege Miles Morales for the first time across the Insomniac Spider-Man video game series. In-surface character selection enables personal switching between Spider-Men while maintaining a fluid gameplay experience through instant adjustments between the characters. Through the Symbiote, Peter uses aggressive tendril attacks, which deliver powerful blows to his enemies, but Miles still maintains his bio-electric Venom powers for electrifying combo strikes and stealth attacks. The game presents dynamic gameplay through these two heroes as select missions target a specific character. Still, other missions offer a choice between them.

Expanded Combat and New Enemy Types

The combat system in Spider-Man 2 received major enhancements through its improved dodge responses, advanced aerial combo features, and different enemy types for heightened strategic gameplay. The introduction of parry mechanics requires players to perform their defenses at precise moments to defend against challenging opponents, specifically those who use counter moves against basic dodges. Enemies have developed strategic combat skills using shields, technology-based devices, and coordinated teamwork that forces Spider-Man to respond instantly and adjust his actions on the fly. New enemies in this version have symbiote infestations that create fighting behavior, which brings distinct and unexpected challenges through erratic movements. Through an augmented skill tree across both Spider-Men, the fighting depth improves dramatically, and combat execution is rewarding against shifting enemy dangers.
