In Pro Evolution Soccer 2013, the “FullControl” feature lets players take full manual control of every pass, shot, touch, and run without the ball, hence removing any AI influence. “Player ID” captures the distinct styles of more than 5, 000 players. For example, Messi is often seen near the touchline before he cuts inside, Ronaldo bursts through the defenders with his step-overs, and Pirlo, on the other hand, does a double scan before his lofted through balls. Manual passing is equipped with a power meter, which penalizes overcharging by resulting in wild hooks. Whereas, manual shot aiming is an unassisted mode in which players have to estimate the curl and dip of the ball based on their player’s strong foot and composure under pressure, as there are no assist arrows. As for defense, “Proactive AI” is responsible for automatic jockeying, run tracking, and lane blocking. Standing tackles, however, need exact timing to avoid fouls, and slides are likely to earn you red cards.

“Dynamic first-touch” reflects more realistic situations: defenders with low skills tend to exaggerate chest traps from long passes, whereas playmakers are able to cushion the ball and get immediately into their stride. Set pieces are now easier to arrange as custom routines, corner flicks, fake shots, near-post designs, etc. Master League has live agent transfers where the transfer fee varies with the player’s recent performance. Also, the youth academy produces players with a unique set of skills. Stamina degradation slows sprint animations visibly, while weather affects ball physics (rain slicks, snow adds unpredictable bounces). Every analog flick balances arcade responsiveness against simulation rigor.
